Bring a book to exchange.
To carpool meet at Angela's at 10:30.
We're excited to see everyone and just have a fun time.

December Book Club

Our annual Christmas party is coming up on Sat, December 11th.

Instead of a dinner or night thing, we are going to do something new. We'll be going out to brunch!! JB's was discussed and probably Denny's, IHOP or something like that. Anyone know of a JB's? Where is it? Otherwise we could go to IHOP right there by Wal-Mart. Please respond with your opinion on where we should go.

We will be eating and then do a book exchange like we've done in previous years. We will also be choosing one of these books to read for January.

Sorry, I can't come tomorow

Hey guys!  Tomorrow is Randy's birthday so I got us Harry Potter tickets for Friday night for his birthday before I remembered it was the night of book club!  Dangit!  I was going to bring The Help by Kathryn Stockett as a book that I loved.  It's set in the 1960s in Jackson, Mississippi.  It's about 2 black maids and one southern woman and the part they played during the civil rights movement.  I seriously loved it.  But I would recommend listening to it rather than reading it.  The narrators did a great job and they really helped me to get into the book whereas I think I would have been distracted by the language if I had tried to read it.  Based on your recommendations I also finished reading all the Jessica Day George books.  I liked the dragon series the best, the others were ok.  I finished The Keys to the Kingdom series which I thought was only ok.  I read Eat, Pray, Love which I mostly liked.  I especially enjoyed the spiritual journey which has made me contemplate how much effort I put into my own spiritual journey.  I'm listening to Shantaram at work right and I like it so far but Margaret didn't mention it was as thick as the bible so it might be a while before I finish it.  Please post the books you guys liked so I can continue to read great stuff instead of random crap I pick up off the shelves.  I'll miss you guys but see you next month!!!

Nov 19th

We had fun at Mindy's discussing The Hunger Games Series and lots of other topics. Thanks to everyone who came and participated.

Our next book club meeting will be on Friday November 19th at Margret's house. We'll be having an open forum to choose our book for January. Come with a book/books you liked and/or didn't like and we'll have a good discussion.

December's book club will be our annual Christmas party. It will be on Friday December 10th at 6:30 at Jen's house. Carpooling at 6:00 and potluck dinner, more details later. We will be having a book exchange again, so be on the lookout for a book you want to bring and give.

October Book Club

October 15th is the date! We will be discussing the Hunger Games series. I think we decided to meet at Mindy's house at 7:30 pm, is that right? We will meet at Angela's house at 6:30 to carpool. See you there!

Book Club Tonight!

Just a quick reminder that book club is tonight. Meet at Angela's at 6:00. We'll be going to dinner at Iggy's Sports Grill at Jordan Landing, then roaming a book store until movie time.

My vote for a movie would be Eat, Love, Pray at 8:10 or The Sorcerer's Apprentice at 9:35 pm, but we can decide which movie we want there. See you all tonight! :)

Book Club on Sept 17th

September's activity is on the 17th.
Meet at Angela's house at 6:00 pm to car pool.
We'll be going out to dinner. Angela has coupons for Iggy's Sports Grill at Jordan Landing.
After dinner, we'll go roam around a book store.
Later we'll go to a movie for those that want to stay. Movie will be decided later.

P.S. I'm bringing a copy of The Mockingjay in the Hunger Games series if anyone wants to borrow it.
