April to May

April book club was a lot of fun. We got started late, but it was a good night for all. We missed those of you who were unable to come. There were a number of books that people brought and we had a very good discussion of them. A list of the books will be at the bottom of this posting.

We discussed the future of the book club and made a change to our book club schedule. We've decided that we will have an open forum every three months, we will have an activity every three months and we will have a normal book club every three months. From the open forum we will choose a book to discuss, the following month we will have an activity and then have the discussion of the book the month following the activity, this will give us time to get the book and read it before discussing it. I think that this will make for a fun and exciting schedule for our book club.

We will be starting this new schedule immediately. Since we had our open forum this month, in May we will have an activity, then in June we will discuss the book we chose this month which is Saints by Orson Scott Card.

May 14th we will be going to Settebello, an Italian restaurant downtown about 260 S 200 W, for our activity. We neglected to discuss a time for this activity. There are a couple options; we could meet at 6:00 pm and go to dinner, or we could meet at 7:30 pm and go for dessert. What would be your preference? April Book Club is Coming Soon

April 2nd is the day for our next book club at Angela's house. We will meet at 7:30 for our open forum night. Bring a book you like and a book you don't like and be ready to explain why you liked or disliked the books. It was really fun last time and gave us all a good list of books to read or avoid.

We had a fun evening at my house at the last book club even though no one read the book. It was a fun night for all and I'm glad you all were able to make the trek and come clear out to Herriman for a bit of socializing. It was really fun to have you all here.

New Date for March Book Club

We have heard from many more people now that next Thursday the 12th will be a better day for all. Therefore, we have definitely changed the date of book club to be Thursday March 12th at 7:30 pm at Jen's house. It will take about 30-35 minutes to get there, so please meet at 7:00 pm to carpool. Can Annette drive? Everyone can meet at her house and then out to Jen's. Thanks for everyone's responses. I'm excited to have you all come over to my house. I will email my address and directions next week.

Change for March Book Club?

We have had many people respond that they will not be able to come this Thursday, and no one but Angela responded that they could come. Because of this we decided to change the day of the book club. Traci, since this was your book, would you be able to come next Thursday to Jen's house? Would everyone else be okay with next Thursday the 12th at Jen's house? Or would you prefer to do it somewhere closer to the majority? Please RSVP, email or call Angela or Jen as soon as possible to let us know so that we can plan.

Questions

We've heard from a few people that they won't be able to come to book club next week, but we haven't heard if anyone is planning on coming. So if you are planning on coming, please RSVP by comment, email or call Angela/Jen.

March Book Club

March 5th is coming quickly and will be the date of our next book club. We will be doing it at 7:30 pm at Jen's new house which she wants to show everyone. We'll be car pooling to save gas since Jen's house is near Herriman and takes 30-40 mins to get there.

The book we will be discussing is Pudd'nhead Wilson by Mark Twain.

In April we will be doing another open forum. Everyone enjoyed it so much that it has been decided that we will do this every three months. Be prepared to bring a book you like and a book you didn't like to the book club in April.
