October Open Forum Books

We had a wonderful time at the last book club! Thanks for everyone coming and participating. Here's a list of the books that were discussed. I've starred & bolded the one that we will be reading in January.

Annette loved The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards
she didn't like the House of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast

Angela liked Against Medical Advice by James Patterson & Hal Friedman
she didn't like the first book in The Spiderwick Chronicals and others suggested that they all need to be read to get the whole story.

Margaret loved Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston
she didn't love The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder by Rebecca Wells

Tracy liked *****The Power of a Positive Mom ***** by Carol Ladd which we will be reading for January

Sheri didn't like Call of the Wild by Jack London
Shoot! I forgot to note which one she liked, sorry.

FRIDAY

Just a reminder that book club is THIS Friday, 7:30 pm at Margaret's house. We'll be having an open forum with a possible movie after. The movie Julie & Julia hasn't reached the dollar theater yet, so we can go to that or find a dollar movie, I'm sure we can decide at the meeting. Hope to see you all there!

Book Club Oct & Nov

Friday October 9th we will be having an open forum at Margaret's house at 7:30 pm. Afterward we will be going to the movie Julie & Julia if it's at the dollar theater then.

Friday November 13th we will be having our holiday part with dinner at 6:30 and a book exchange after. More details will follow later.

Because of the busy holidays we will be skipping book club in December, but will start back up again in Jan.

THIS WEEK!

Book Club is this week! Thursday Sept 3rd, 7:30pm at Angela's house. We will be talking about Jamie Ford's Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. After we will play games or just chat. Hope all of you can come! See you there!

September Book Club

September 3rd will be our next book club. We will be discussing Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. 7:30 pm at Angela's house.


In October we will have our open forum and our holiday party in November. Please plan for these as well.

So You Think You Can Dance Fans

For those who enjoy watching So You Think You Can Dance, you are probably aware that tonight is the season finale. Don't stay home to watch it! We'll play it in the background with our game playing! See you tonight!

August Book Club
